New Build uploaded finally 07-24-2024
Wow ok guys, sorry its been a while since i uploaded a new build, but life stuff can sometimes sneak up on you when you least expect it.
so...
Whats New?
In short quite a bit not as much as i would have liked but such is the way, there is a new major addition to the player character and the icon has been there for a while... Its Melee (well early version of it)
I have now added unity new input system which has allowed me to in the next update to add key customization which is an event in its self, other modifications include a fix for the gui which did not display the grenade icon when the player aquired the ability. Some elevators have been added to the map to get you to the top of the sewage plant, Sign posts that explain certain mechanics many more in game helpers are coming soon.
Level enhancements, I have finally started adding more meat on to the bones of my level design whether it is sewage spewing mazes or trap filled coridoors these are all being worked on and will be added in due course
so as we continue with this journey i say we because you guys are just as important as myself we will get this game as polished as possible
Hints and Tricks:
With the addition of melee attacks I have decided to add this section to each build update:
TURRET OVERLOAD
We all know that the turrets are an annoying hard hitting enemy but with the addition of the overlaod knuckles melee attack we can now make short work of the turrets.
To pull this off we need to take full advantage of the enemy overlap feature (allowing player to walk through enemies)
1. Shoot the turret this stops it firing instantly (3sec)
2. During the 3 second cooldown quickly approach the turret
3. When you are passed the barell of the turret it cannot attack you
4. When at its body press the melee attack (while Overload knuckles is equipped)
5. Watch as the turret disables
The Melee attack is very powerfull and does kill enemies easily but trying to melee all enemies may not end well for you (especially when approaching batters) so try not using this everywhere unless you are very skilled at avoiding enemy attacks
Known Bugs:
- Still some issues with platforming but being squashed day by day
- Melee sometimes infinately loops until another action is performed
- Cursor Crosshair sometimes shows without warning which can be distracting
- Green doors can be opened with grenades though these should be called only
- Enemies walk on the spot when entering in to battle state
New Features:
- Added Melee (Overload Knuckles)
- Made Rat boomer a little more difficult
- Sign posts to explain features
- Added some more SFX
- New input system (allows controller customization)
- New sections added to the map on the far left
- Made obstacles on the way to rat boomer and elevator coridoors
