New Web Build uploaded v0.241
Hi Guys
Well another voting session over I rated 6th which is a lower rating then before but by no means bad. i*m going to break it down and see what we have learned and what's next.
What i Learned:
- Enjoyment is pretty low
- This is probably due to my poor controls and with no customization causing frustration.
- Could also be the annoying jump issues which makes many enemies just frustrating to kill
- May also be too difficult, however i wont apologies for this lol.
- Execution is pretty bad
- There are many bugs and glitches in this game which i will do my best to work through.
- There is also not much in the way of a back story so adding this in might be something to consider
- graphics are great
- They could do with some animation which will further enhance these
- Music is great
- As a musician its always great to see my hard work pay off, there are more tunes and sfx on the way
- Feels like a Metroid Vania
- I want to lean more into this element
SO I have looked over you guys feedback and have started implementing some big changes. So with this build i have just uploaded everything that I have been working on over the last 14 days and my official 0.241 release is live
My Action plan this Jam up to v0.25
- Tiles that need animating will be worked on throughout this phase of development
- More custom tiles to increase the current packs
- More Gameplay Elements including traps and their solutions
- Controls customization will actually be added this time
- More fluid control, especially when jumping as 0.24 had fixed jump height which is quite frustrating when trying to shoot enemies
- Further refinement to the player and its animations
- The First Main boss to get the dash mod
- More Clear Direction in game
- More enemy types should be introduced
- NPC's that are not enemies should be introduced
- HUD Control should be looked at
This is but a small list of what i have in mind though these are my key focus for the 0.25 SMVM Build
What's new in this build v0.241:
- Basic implementation of the jump fixes
- Some Tiles have been animated to add more life to the game with many more to come
- Gravity tweaks to accommodate the new jump modifications
- Started implementing the electro trap mechanics in the sewer flow area
A large amount of work went in to enhancing the jump mechanics, hope that there is already a marked improvement in precision for those annoying high enemies
